Residents are invited to make use of the hair salon, at their own cost. There are numerous activities, many of which are initiated and managed by the office staff and individual residents who have a strong sense of community, being in a village of this nature also offers a sense of community, so vital as one gets older.

Security
For residents to feel safe and secure in the village, The Formosa Garden Village has put in place stringent security measures which include:
- Access control gate with 24/7 security guards on duty who monitor and regularly patrol the entire village and its perimeter with a backup rapid response team if required.
- Entire perimeter monitored electric fencing with double fencing in certain areas.
- CCTV coverage of perimeter and public building.
- Backup battery systems for critical areas and systems during a power failure.
- A generator which automatically takes over and supplies power to the whole village during power failures or load shedding.
- An in-house trained fire team with fire equipment to assist with fire prevention. Training and evacuation drills are done regularly in conjunction with Plett Security and Bitou Fire department. Fire equipment, extinguisher and hydrants are regularly maintained and certified.
- If and when necessary, the Bitou Fire Department is contacted.
- Emergency medical assistance is attended to by the Registered Nurse on duty and ambulance services are contacted if necessary.
Dining & Take Away
Tasty and nutritious food is close at hand in our dining room, which offers residents a well-balanced two-course meal from Monday to Saturday, and on Sundays, a three-course meal which is a firm favourite with residents and members. Residents may bring their own choice of beverage to the dining room. For convenience, residents have the option of ordering the Meal-of-the-day, or selecting items from the Á la carte menu.
Hair Salon
The well-equipped on-site hair salon means you can always look your best without ever having to travel! Conveniently available on site with a professional hairstylist attending to your needs. Bookings to be made directly with the hairstylist. Contact details available with the Receptionist.
Library
With over 5000 books in our well-stocked library, there is something for everyone’s taste. The catalogued library has an exceptional choice of fiction, non-fiction and large print books available, as well as housing the U3A collection.
Lounge
Our comfortable lounge not only provides residents with a relaxing space to sit and chat, but can by arrangement be used for special events such as birthdays, wedding anniversaries and memorials. The friendly and capable FGV staff are on hand to cater and assist with these functions, making it a stress-free experience for the hosts.
Pool
For the days when you don’t feel like heading down to one of Plett’s magnificent beaches, take a dip in the sparkling pool. Whether you’re a fitness fanatic swimming laps, or simply want to enjoy the therapeutic effects of water, the pool is there for your enjoyment.
Guest rooms
For those residents wanting to have friends or family members stay at FGV, we have three en-suite guestrooms which can be booked. The non-smoking, twin bed rooms all have a pre-selected DStv bouquet of 10 channels, and tea and coffee facilities.
Transport services
We provide a daily bus to town with designated drop-off points and collection times, as well as PDP registered drivers who for a small fee, can assist residents wishing to use their personal vehicles for appointments.
Healthcare residents have access to a designated FGV vehicle that is intended for medical appointments.
Gardens
The beautifully maintained and well-established gardens provide a peaceful and beautiful environment for residents. All common garden areas are maintained by dedicated FGV staff, with the lawns being mowed and kept in great condition by garden services. For those who love gardening, plenty of opportunity exists to nurture and share your passion.
